Long explanation that I won't go into about light being refracted by the glass etc. except to say that it is normal for some things to break down the light into the colors contained in it. This is why diamonds and other stones sparkle and you see color in the reflected light coming back at you.

As diaglo mentioned the artist, Keith Parkinson, died some time ago. There are a few items still available on his website (run by his family, I believe) but Lord Soth's Charge is not one of the posters they still have in stock.
