Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 154 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 88 on Oahu, 20 on Maui, eight on Hawaii island, six on Kauai and 32 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 237,672 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 164,664 on Oahu, 29,666 in Maui County (28,100 on Maui, 938 on Molokai and 628 on Lanai), 25,982 on Hawaii island and 11,532 on Kauai. A total of 5,828 residents have been diagnosed out of state.

• No new deaths were reported Wednesday; the state fatality count remains at 1,354.

• As of Wednesday, the state had reached a vaccination rate of 76.6 percent, with Honolulu County at 80 percent, Kauai County at 72 percent, Maui County at 70 percent and Hawaii County at 68 percent.

• As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there were 10 people hospitalized with COVID-19 at Maui Memorial Medical Center – six unvaccinated and four vaccinated, with one who received a booster shot. There were no patients in the ICU or on a ventilator.

• DOH announced that it will shift from daily to weekly COVID-19 reporting, with numbers reported every Wednesday starting next week. With the change, The Maui News will also shift to reporting data weekly.
