NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Retail giant and world-renowned convenience store chain Buc-ee’s is actively evaluating the prospect of opening a second location in Louisiana, according to a report from KADN News 15, citing a source.
Sources tell KADN that Buc-ee’s is considering a plot of land in Lafayette, off of Louisiana Avenue near I-10.
Other locations are also being considered, but KADN reports that the Louisiana Avenue plot is the “preferred choice.”
There is no timetable at the moment, with KAND reporting “a lot of things still need to come together to make the deal work.”

The state’s first Buc-ee’s travel center is set to open in Ruston as early as April 2025. The city, Lincoln Parish School Board, and Lincoln Parish Police Jury approved a tax incentive package to set the project in motion. The Ruston location is slated to cover over 53,000 square feet with 120 gas pumps.
The company, headquartered in Lake Jackson, Texas, has over 40 stores in seven southern states.
